Xi Van Fleet’s Lecture “The Two Marxist Cultural Revolutions”

Updated: Oct 1

On September 25th, 2024, Xi Van Fleet gave a lecture titled “The Two Marxist Cultural Revolutions” at the Virginia Forum hosted by the Virginia Council.

Xi Van Fleet, a Chinese woman who grew up in China after the Communist Revolution of 1949, currently lives in Loudoun County, Virginia. During the forum, Xi Van Fleet mentioned that the “Red Guard” consisted of children, from elementary school age up to high school, who would tear down monuments and religious icons so that the nation could move “forward” from the past. Xi Van Fleet recalled her experience in school where her and her classmates learned that Chairman Mao was their “father” and that they had to pledge allegiance to him over their own parents. Children were encouraged to report any actions, that were against the communist government, to authorities. Xi Van Fleet mentioned that she recalled a classmate who reported her parents and three months later they were executed.

I recommend reading the book, “Mao’s America A Survivor's Warning” which goes in depth about the Chinese Communist Revolution of the past and how it’s tied to the American Marxist movement.
