In 2022, the Renaming Commission, which had been established by a Democrat majority in Congress, recommended the renaming of military bases, that were named after Confederate generals, and the removal of the Reconsilation Monument that was dedicated in 1914 by President Woodrow Wilson during the 106th birthday of Jefferson Davis. The Reconsilation Monument was sculpted by the first Jewish graduate of the Virginia Military Institute. With the removal of the Recinsilation Monument in Arlington, mere days after the end of Hannakah at a time that antisemitism is at an all time high, shows that the spirit of reconciliation that our nation achieved decades ago is dead.
